About This Policy
UtiliQ is a utility intelligence platform operated by UTILIQ, LLC ("UTILIQ," "we," or "us"). As used in this policy, "the Service" refers to the UtiliQ platform available at utiliq.ai and all related features, tools, and communications provided by UTILIQ, LLC. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
Information We Collect
We collect information in connection with your registration for and use of the Service. This includes information you choose to provide when creating an account or engaging with features of the Service, information generated through the manner and frequency of your interactions with the Service, and technical information automatically collected by our systems to maintain the security and performance of the platform. The scope of information we hold about you reflects how you use the Service. We do not collect utility account numbers, payment information, or private account details printed on utility bills.
Google API Services: Gmail Access
UtiliQ offers an optional feature that allows you to connect your Google account so that the Service can identify utility bill notification emails in your Gmail inbox. This connection uses read-only access to your Gmail messages. We do not send emails, delete emails, move emails, or modify your Gmail account in any way.
When you connect your Gmail account, UtiliQ identifies utility bill emails in your inbox and extracts relevant billing information to populate your UtiliQ dashboard data.
UtiliQ does not use Gmail data for advertising purposes. The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How We Use Information
We use collected information to operate and improve the Service, communicate with you about your account, and support our business operations. We work with third-party service providers to deliver and maintain the Service. These providers may process data on our behalf in accordance with their own privacy policies.
SMS Alerts
UtiliQ offers an optional SMS alert feature. By checking the consent box in your account settings, you agree to receive automated text messages from UtiliQ about unusual activity detected on your utility bills. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on your bill activity.
To opt out at any time, reply STOP to any message we send. You may also turn off SMS alerts from within your UtiliQ dashboard under Notification Settings. Reply HELP for assistance or contact us at support@utiliq.ai. We do not share your mobile number with third parties for their marketing purposes.
Data Rights
By using the Service, you grant UTILIQ, LLC a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free right to use, store, process, and retain data generated through your use of the Service to operate, improve, and develop the Service. This right is transferable in connection with any merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, and survives account deactivation. When shared with third parties, partners, or successors, such data will be in a form that does not include your name or email address.
Age Restriction
The Service is intended for users 18 years of age or older and is not directed to minors. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that a minor has used the Service, we will promptly remove their account and associated information from our systems.
Account Deactivation
You may deactivate your account at any time from within your account settings. Consistent with our data integrity obligations, certain de-identified records derived from your use of the Service may be retained. You are solely responsible for discontinuing any email forwarding rules you have established in connection with the Service.
Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect your personal identifiers and information on the Service against unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss. In the event of a security incident affecting your personal identifiers, we will make reasonable efforts to notify affected users at the email address registered to their UtiliQ account without unreasonable delay.
Privacy Rights
Regardless of where you are located, you may choose to remove your personal identifiers at any time by deactivating your account, which can be done from within your account settings. Personal identifiers will be removed in a reasonable timeframe following account deactivation. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights. California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA").
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the Service following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. Questions regarding this policy may be directed to support@utiliq.ai.
